FAQ/QUILT CARE
Q: What is your return policy?
A: We want you to be happy with your purchase, and so strive to represent our bed quilts and quilted throws correctly. Because of the handcrafted nature of our bed quilts and quilted throws, we generally do not accept returns unless you have received the wrong merchandise. This ensures that the items you purchase from us are not used. If you receive the wrong merchandise, we will send you the correct item and pay for the return shipping. If you are unsure of colors, you may want to consider buying a valance or sham first to see if a particular pattern is exactly what you want. Please notify us within 7 days if you need to return something. If we do authorize a return, there is a 15% restocking fee, and buyer is responsible for return shipping. On items damaged by carrier, please notify them and us within 24 yours.
Q: What are your shipping charges?
Shipping charges may change without notice. Please see our shipping page for the most current information.
Q: How are the bed quilts and quilted throws shipped?
A: Our primary shipping method is UPS. If you only have a P. O. Box, you must add an additional $2.50 for shipping to a P. O. Box.
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. If you must write a check, there will be a 10 business day hold before your order is shipped.
Q: Is it safe to pay by credit card?
A: Our website proudly displays the Authorizenet Seal of security and MCFee Hackersafe protection. This means that not only are your transactions protected, but the website is protected from hackers getting into personal information once you have entered it. Our website is tested daily to be sure it is safe and secure by an independent program from McAfee.
Q: How do you protect my credit information?
A: All orders go through our merchant account which is protected by secure encryption. No one ever sees your credit card information as it goes through our processor. Your confirmation excludes this information so you never have to worry about anyone else seeing your credit card information.
QUILT CARE
Now you have purchased your quilt, we are pleased to offer you a few suggestions for care of your new or old quilt. Firstly, if the quilt ain't broke, don't fix it. If it isn't really in need of a bath, don't give it one! Always read the manufactures instructions first!
If possible, spot clean with ivory dish soap mixed with water, rub gently, then dab the spot dry with a paper towel. If you intend to machine wash your quilt, you will need to set the colors of your quilt before you was it for the first time. Your quilt is best washed in a commercial front loading washer. The agitator of a home machinecan damage the hand quilting.
Always use the gentle cycle, and wash your quilt in cold water. The first time you wash your quilt, soak the quilt overnight, fully immersed, after adding 3 cups of table salt to the water, then complete the wash cycle. During the rinse cycle, add a half cup of white vinegar to the water. This will help prevent colors from running. Always use a mild detergent to wash your quilt.
Air dry your quilt whenever possible, lay it flat on a sheet outside on a sunny day. Line drying is not recommended, due to the weight of the west quilt on the hand stitching.
Any loose stitching shoud be mended immediately upon discovery, using small stitches, or a good grade fabric adhesive if your stitching skills are a little lacking!
If you dry clean your quilt, have the dry cleaner test a small area while you watch!
Your quilt will give you many years of use and enjoyment if you take a few simple steps to take care of it. Remember, while we make every effort to give you the best advice we can, we cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur from following any or all of these care tips.
